Monumental Training and Ingeus had fabulous success last week with the ‘Yes You Can’ motivational event held at the Stadium of Light.

The aim of the event was to give current job seekers new opportunities and the means of finding work, motivating and engaging them in the process. There were a number of motivational speakers, team building activities and talks from actively recruiting businesses including Prologic UK, Sunderland Homecare, UKAR, Utility Warehouse, Territorial Army, Sunderland Itec, and Station Taxis. There were also presentations from support services such as Sustainable Enterprise Solutions (SES), National Career Service, and Fiscus.

Over 150 people of Sunderland and Washington’s long term unemployed attended the event which was exclusively available to clients on the work programme scheme with Ingeus, Sunderland. This is the perfect opportunity for the long term unemployed of Sunderland in a bid to rejuvenate the regional jobs market and source the right candidates for the right vacancies and in turn, lower the employment rates in the region.

Nice Touch

Eight graduates from the most recent Monumental Training course have walked straight into employment with local contact centre 2Touch after a visit to their offices in Doxford International. The learners had spent just 2 weeks on an intense program covering sales techniques and customer service standards plus a range of employability skills ensuring they were ready for interview. A presentation from 2Touch Operations Manager Chris Hall to all trainees lead to huge interest in the roles they had on offer. A site visit and interviews were arranged for the following week with eight of the cohort being successful and starting work a few days later.

Chris commented after the successful project, ‘I was so impressed with the interviewees who had worked so hard over the 2 weeks.’ He added, ‘It was a pleasure working with Monumental and we look forward to working with them on our future recruitment drives.’
